My name is Stacy and I am a middle aged mother, wife and have a full time desk job. I started writing in September 2009, when I created one blog for fun. Then I created a cooking blog because I love to cook. Then I decided to write my memoirs (I really don’t like that word – makes me sound super old) or life story.
I actually had to do a project and wrote my autobiography in the Spring of 2009. I thought I could have it written in 2 weeks max. I was wrong. Turns out that I had a lot to say, so 3 months and 47 typed pages later I had a rough, rough draft of my story.
After that process was over, I had the brilliant idea that I wanted to turn my story into a book. However, I didn’t do anything with it for months. In December 2009, I was asked to speak to a group and tell my story. When it was all said and done, people from the audience came up to me and said they wanted to hear more! So maybe, just maybe I had something to say that people might want to hear.
I decided now was the time. I have no formal training in writing, and my experience was limited to personal letters, business letters and maybe a few poems here and there. So here goes – the Journey to a book.
